About Sew Unique

Description of image.Hello and Welcome to Sew Unique!

My name is Bonnie, I own and operate Sew Unique in Springfield, IL. I started the sewing business after many years of sewing and embroidery at home and developing a passion for heirloom sewing and children's dress making for my children.

Sew Unique first opened it's doors in Jo-Ann Fabrics in 1998 and then moved to 2765 West Jefferson Street, Suite D, inside the Jefferson Mall in 1999 and spent 4 years at that location. In 2003, Sew unique moved to 1050 North Grand Avenue West, inside Tom Sapps new mall, North Grand Avenue West Plaza.

In 1998, Sew Unique started business as a Husqvarna Viking and White sewing machine dealer inside of Jo-Ann Fabrics. In 2000, we expanded our machines sales to include PFAFF sewing machines and sergers. In 2001, again, Sew Unique expanded to include Brother sewing machines and sergers. In 2003, Sew Unique lost it's dealership with Husqvarna Viking due to "Business Decisions made by the Corporate Headquarters in West Lake, Ohio" At that time, Sew Unique was faced with the demolition of their Jefferson street store and decide to move to the North Grand Avenue West location. During the move, Sew Unique again expanded to include a full line of Quilt Fabrics, quilt supplies and patterns.

Today, Sew Unique offers a full line of quilt/sewing classes with some of the best teachers in the country, a full line of quilt fabrics, patterns, a huge selection of sewing machines and sergers, a complete line of notions, sewing cabinets, software and now even Brother commercial embroidery machines.
